The White-Wixom Wedding: Day 1 & 2

Oct. 8th: Even after a long night of traveling, Cyn and Rachel prove they're ready to compete in Top Model.

Oct. 8th: Our first stop (after napping) was the marriage license office. Rachel looks like she's having second thoughs. Really, it's just all the coffee she had. (I think)

Oct. 8th: After splitting up with the girls, Will and I went to nab our tuxedos. But not before Will got really into the fitting. Like really into it. Like Thunder Down Under into it.

Oct. 8th: The funny thing here is, Will and Kris's tuxedos were at two separate Men's Warehouse stores -- that were across the street from each other. So we had to get in the car, drive across the street and... you get the picture.

Oct. 8th: Marriage license... check. Kris made the licensing woman laugh... check. Rachel had to confess, "Yes, I know he's weird"... check.

Oct. 8th: That afternoon, we went to check out the wedding site. You know, scope out the scene of the crime-to-be. Best part of this photo: Rachel in the BG, looking like she's taking a poo. For some reason, the bride-to-be thought she'd be the focus of this picture. :-P

Oct. 8th: Whatever Will was doing, it was funny... and documented on Cyn's camera.

Oct. 8th: Mental note, ask Kris' father to moo-ve the cows to a different field before the wedding. Kid you not, they were plotting a way to jump that string and run us down. Look at the ring leader's face!

Oct. 9th: This is the first time most of the family has met Julie's serious live-in boyfriend, Aaron. He kind of got a pass because all the focus was on the wedding. I promise that won't happen again. Just you wait, Aaron!

Oct. 9th: Miguelito, the ring-bearer, and Beth's son (one of the bridesmaids). Kris swears he didn't ask him to pimp Disney paraphrenelia in this photo.

Oct. 9th: Miguelito, Beth and Rachel. Beth and Rachel worked at Jake's Billiard together in Pasadena. She was one of Rachel's first friends in Los Angeles.

Oct. 9th: The boy had too much energy. Especially for having been on a plane all morning. He crashed later though, that's for sure.

Oct. 9th: A portrait of three generations of Wixom's. Nuff said. This afternoon, the groomsmen, bridesmaid and Rachel's family all arrived in town.

Oct. 9th: Kris points at Coop's junk.

Oct. 9th: Cyn points at Coop's junk. Overheard quote: "You sure he dresses left?"

Oct 9th: Coop laments everyone pointing at his junk.

Oct. 9th: The proud father of the bride.

Oct. 9th: The proud groomsmen. Yeah, you're number one too, buddy.

Oct. 9th: What's more priceless, Craig's look or Rachel's baffled expression. You decide.

Oct. 9th: Rachel messing with her sister's kids.

Oct. 9th: Kris very seriously focuses on tickling (ie tormenting) Alexandra.

Oct. 9th: As dusk fell, everyone chipped in to assemble the chairs at the wedding site. No one was immune from a little work.

Oct. 9th: Coop's lonely little phone sitting on a chair in the foreground provided some tune-age for everyone to work too. Ah the south... listening to music while working in the fields.

Oct. 9th: Abigail was our official chair-tester. Her job was the make sure none of the chairs were on hidden sink-holes, and that they weren't on too much of a slant. A key job.

Oct. 9th: The rental company (truck in bg) finished setting up the tent and dropping off the chairs, etc. just as the sun set.

Oct. 9th: Coop and Kris whistling dixie after a hard day's work.

Oct. 9th: Back at the house, we bid the groomsmen and bridesmaids adieu for the evening as the White and Wixom families prepared for a dinner out together -- our first chance to have the families truly mingle.

Oct. 9th: Andrew, Kris' brother, declares Blue Moon to be the official beer of the evening.

Oct. 9th: Little Ava found Miguel absolutely fascinating. She was, no joke, petting him. All I'm saying is, if they ever get married -- this'll be a heck of story about their first meeting.

Oct. 9th: At dinner with the White and Wixom clans. Rachel points out that she's wearing a shirt that once belonged to her mother. Mrs. Wixom's comment: "I was wondering when you were going to remember where it came from."

Oct. 9th: Here's a big ol' group shot of the families dining together. We ate at the Irish Rover in Smithfield... which was technically closed when we arrived. But because there were so many of us, they agreed to stay open later to serve us.
